The main Freight Associations you can join

There are many benefits to joining professional associations, and some of the main freight associations in the freight industry are listed below.

Freight Transport Association (FTA)
Freight Transport Association has a sole and focused aim to look after the interests of freight companies in the UK. This is arguably the leading organisation in the UK and a wonderful resource for information and advice for freight companies and for those looking for a freight company.

British International Freight Association (BIFA)
This association is concerned with freight movement of all types for companies who deal on an international basis. The association is run by the members itself, of which there are around 1400, so the actions of the association are always concerned with improving conditions and operations for those members.

International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA)
This is the biggest nongovernmental freight association in the world and acts in the interest of protecting the industry’s interests through its close relationships with many governmental bodies around the globe. The association also monitors the quality of the service offered by its members to ensure that they remain to a high standard.

European Freight Forwarders Association (EFFA)
The European Freight Forwarders Association is a great association to join for independent freight forwarders to contact and network with other people in the same industry as well as potential clients. Business development is high on the agenda and the agents at the agency work personally with members to encourage this.

The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA)
The main aims of this association are: to increase levels of trade between the developed and developing countries, to encourage the freedom of international trade and improve industry cooperation. The role and importance of air travel are portrayed on a regular basis to both members and the public through a range of literature and events.
