Bangkok is a city full of flair and glamour, so the international Gems and Jewellery Fair which takes place in the city bi-annually is right at home there. The show is also a great place for freight and shipping company providers to get in direct contact with the decision makers in the big stones business; a sector which can be quite lucrative for a freight company.
Thailand has a positive reputation for its craftsmanship and it is considered as something of a hub for the gem industry. There are numerous features to the show which combine to give the fair its successful formula, including being able to explore the latest collections from local manufacturers as well as those from around the globe, the fantastic fashion shows which show off the gems in a holistic context and design awards amongst many other things. The fair is now approaching its 50th anniversary and continues to grow year on year.

The exhibitors spend a lot of time and money ensuring that the launch of their product is as memorable as possible in order that they stand out from competitors, making for something of an extravaganza.The Bangkok Gems and Jewellery Fair is a five day event which is held at the Impact Exhibition and Conference Centre, which is situated in the Bangkok suburbs and is one of the largest venues in Asia, and has played host to the world’s biggest pop stars and international sports tournaments over the years. The size of the venue gives you some idea of just how big this event is.
In order to help visitors reach the suburban location there are free shuttle buses which run from the city to the event. Other visitor services include free refreshments, a business centre and prayer rooms. Visitors to the Bangkok and Jewellery fair are expected to dress appropriately for the event, and therefore shorts and open shoes should not be worn. The minimum age to enter the event is 15, although there is an area where younger children can be left.
From the exhibitor viewpoint there is a great seminar programme in which to participate, the famous welcome party and a specialist preview show.
