RSJ and The Woodvale Challenge: Shipping boats for the Indian Ocean race (Perth/Mauritius) Race

As part of the 'The Woodvale Challenge Series' the 'Woodvale Challenge Indian Ocean Rowing race' will see teams rowing from Geraldtown, Western Australia across the Pacific to Mauritius. This is an incredibly challenging race and the boats used are very well and strongly designed, custom made Ocean rowing boats, built to stand up to ocean force waters.

The Indian Ocean race takes place this April 2009 and covers 3100 miles, a distance only very competant and very well prepared rowers can realistically likely finish. There are two Woodvale Challenges scheduled for this year, the second race of the year planned for December 2009. The 'Woodvale Challenge Indian Ocean Rowing race', will take rowers across the Atlantic ocean between La Gomera (off the coast of the Canary Islands) across 2500 miles of ocean to Antigua in the Caribbean.

Shipping these boats has meant even more than the usual very high level of care and attention. The boats are tough and sturdy but incrediblly expensive and in their own way still very delicate. Ensuring the boats arrived in mint condition was essential and RSJ ensured that this was the case.
