RSJ Freight updates and news online (August 2009)

The economy is still delicate and many people in the industry are still waiting to see when the main impact of the recession will be over. There is plenty going on in the industry though and some highlights below:

• The FTA (Freight Transport Association) are running a series of workshops for freight managers. Sponsored by Iveco, the workshops will cover a number of areas including Risk Management, dealing with problems in a recession and future markets. You can sign up via the FTA site.
• If you are interested in Freight rates and forwarding to Malaysia you can find a new article online. The Malaysian market offers a number if import and export opportunities including for oil, gas and petroleum.
• If you are moving large food shipments, there is a new article in the 'type of freight' section on this site. There are a number of additional considerations when sending freight which involves food.
