Import and Exports business – emerging markets and countries
International Trading or the Import and Export business is one of the biggest commercial successes in the world economy. Every year, over 5 trillion dollars in merchandise is traded, of which more than 95% of the merchandise is traded by small businesses. Import and export businesses are thriving in the new and emerging markets found in developing nations.
India and China are considered to be some of the biggest emerging countries in the world and there are over 20 countries that are following close behind. Apart from
Indian and China, the other major emerging markets in the Import/Export business are Pakistan, Mexico, Brazil, Philippines, Middle East, Romania, Singapore, Africa, Turkey and the Czech Republic.
There are different kinds of businesses that comprise the Import/Export industry, and these include distributors, who mainly trade goods that either are not available on national soil or are cheaper in other countries and the Export Management Companies or EMCs. An EMC works by assisting a corporation to market their products in another country by arranging the logistics of transportation.
Since emerging markets are developing financially as well as commercially, setting up an import/export relationship with these countries is destined to be profitable. Many countries with rich emerging markets that were closed to trading with other countries, have recently started opening up their markets to foreign investors.
These countries are also looking to develop many educational programs that bring to light new freight technologies and facilitate the exchange of experience and knowledge about the freight industry between foreign investors and local freight companies. This has created a bigger demand for imports and exports and foreign investors in turn help develop the country’s economy and together both the investor and the country flourish, promoting the import/export industry further.
